Leaving HubSpot was not an easy decision. It was my first full-time engineering role and I’ve learned so much over the past year. But I also learned something important about myself: working remotely has been hard on my productivity and mental health. I’m a people person. I do my best work when I’m around people who push me, challenge how I think, and make me want to get better every day. That’s what stood out to me about Spur. Throughout the interview process, Anushka Nijhawan, Andy Wang, and Daniel Ding pushed me across product, engineering, design, and customer problems. Every conversation made me think harder, and each round felt more like a preview of working with the team than a typical interview. That has already been true in my first week. I’ve shipped production code, sat in on customer calls, and watched ideas move from user feedback to product decisions to implementation really quickly. The work is ambiguous in the best way possible: part engineering, part product judgment, part design taste, and a lot of asking the right questions before building. A special thank you to Ronak Shah for being in my corner throughout this process. You helped me think through the tradeoffs, ask better questions, and get clear on what I was actually searching for.
