About the Role Iliad is forming a team to build infrastructure to automate foundational alignment research. As our CTO, you’ll own the vision and execution of that effort: building and managing a team of software engineers, setting the technical direction, and ensuring that Iliad and its affiliated organizations can work at a scale and speed that wouldn’t be possible otherwise. The centerpiece of this work will be developing the Textbook from the Future. What We’re Looking For - Deep knowledge of AI alignment research - Experience building research infrastructure, automation pipelines, or AI-powered applications - Proven track record managing and building software engineering teams - Deeply bought into the potential of AI to transform research - Prior experience at an early-stage organization or in a founding technical role is highly valued - Comfort working with distributed teams and working remotely - Ability and willingness to travel frequently to events in the US and UK Benefits - Time Off: 25 days paid vacation annually - Flexible Working Hours: We’re a distributed organization with employees in a variety of locations and offer flexible working hours - Team Retreats: We have occasional in-person team retreats Curriculum Developer & Technical Researcher Location: Remote, Global Type: Full-time Salary: $60,000–$100,000.
