micro1 is engaging Air Traffic Controllers to contribute to a customer’s AI project focused on aviation communications. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

  • Listen to authentic ATC radio transmissions and produce accurate, structured transcripts in line with detailed project guidelines.
  • Identify and extract critical instructions—including headings, altitudes, frequencies, and clearances—from radio communications.
  • Leverage contextual resources such as airport diagrams, approach charts, and real-time aircraft positions to enhance transcription fidelity.
  • Apply your operational experience to clarify ambiguous or noisy audio segments, ensuring precise and context-aware extraction.
  • Deliver transcriptions that meet a stringent accuracy threshold (e.g., 2% word error rate or lower) as defined by project standards.
  • Follow feedback and iterative review processes to refine output quality and support continuous AI model improvement.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all shared data and adhere to project security protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or previous certification as an air traffic controller (tower, approach, center, or ground).
  • Demonstrated fluency in English, both written and verbal, with proficiency in aviation phraseology.
  • Ability to comprehend a wide array of accents, including those of international pilots.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing consistent, high-quality transcripts.
